Schools serve every student, and our website should too. HSSS works to keep this site usable for visitors of all abilities.
Our commitment
HSSS aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We review the site periodically and address issues as they are identified.
What we do
- Semantic headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate the page
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
- Visible focus indicators and full keyboard navigation
- Color combinations chosen for readable contrast
- Layouts that reflow for phones, tablets and enlarged text
- Form fields with clear labels and plainly worded error messages
Accessibility in our services
The same commitment applies on campus. HSSS staff work within each school's accommodations, health plans and support requirements so that every student can participate.
